[Notice on application for joint & dual degree at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) 2021]
Application before 15 October 2020

Required documents
1. Joint & Dual Degree Application Form
2. 109-1 NCCU Certificate of Enrollment
3. Official transcripts and department (class) grade ranking for all years (English)
4. A photocopy of the English proficiency test transcripts. If the original copy is not received in time, submit the snapshot of the online score enquiry screen.
5. Certificate of financial support
6. Resume: Your professional resume should include personal information (name, address, telephone number and email address), educational background, work experience (start and end dates for each position and a brief description of responsibilities), internship experience, educational training, professional associations, and leadership experiences.
7.Personal statement in 500 words: Your personal statement should specifically answer the following questions.
(1) Why have you chosen this program to further your education?
(2) How will your skills and strengths add value to the program?
(3) What are your career aspirations upon graduation and how will this program help you achieve your professional goals?
8. Program Essay 1 (250 words)
Your Program Essay 1 should specifically answer the following question.
For international students seeking employment in the United States, realizing that the US job market is extremely competitive and challenging, if unable to secure employment in the US, what are your alternative plan(s)?
9. Optional essay:If you feel you need to explain an area of your application or if you have something you would like to share that was not addressed elsewhere in the application you may upload an optional essay.

Note:
Master’s students may apply for a joint & dual degree regardless of years. For full-time students only.
Male students requiring conscription must apply for a deferral of graduation.
The said “joint & dual degree” is available for undergraduate students graduating in 2020 and master’s students (see note) of the Department of Management Information Systems, Department of International Business, and Department of Business Administration. Accepted students will earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree from NCCU and a Master of Science in Technology Management (MSTM) degree from UIUC in one year.
The TM Program of UIUC and the Department of Management Information Systems, Department of International Business, and Department of Business Administration of NCCU have signed the International Joint & Dual Degree Collaboration Project. Under this project, NCCU can recommend five students to study at UIUC without competing with applicants across the world. Recommended students will be evaluated in advance. Students interested in the TM Program of UIUC should take a valid English proficiency test to apply for the program before the closing date for application.

UIUC is one of the best universities in the USA. Its College of Business was ranked the top 12th in the USA in 2012 and the 30th among the top 100 in the 2015 world university rankings.(http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/world-university-rankings/2015/reputation-ranking/range/01-50). UIUC’s information management was rated the 8th in the Tech Republic Report. UIUC has cultivated many outstanding students. Through this joint & dual degree collaboration project, it hopes to cultivate more excellent students.

The application form is shown in the annex. Students intending to apply for the program should submit the application form to staff Yu-ru Lin at the Office of the Department of Management Information Systems on the 9th floor of the NCCU College of Commerce Building.
